Semi Rijo

BACKGROUND

The Semi Rijo is a white limestone, presenting a fine grain and structure, as well as uniform background. It may present some occasional brownish spots on its surface and some small signs of fossils. The Semi Rijo is a softer limestone, mostly used on vertical applications such as cladding, masonry, stonework.  This is perhaps the most relevant white colored limestone in Portugal, which is mostly dominated by beige colored limestones.

Compression strength: 660 Kg/cm2; Bending strength: 136 Kg/cm2; Open porosity: 11,4%

RECOMMENDED USE

The Semi Rijo is an ideal limestone to be used on diverse masonry applications, exterior cladding and stonework. Due to its softness, it is not recommended for horizontal applications such as flooring. In addition, this is a limestone mostly supplied to warmer countries.
