Lioz

BACKGROUND

The Lioz is a beige / yellow limestone, presenting fine grain and somewhat irregular structure. It has strong composition of calcite and fossils, presenting bluish or pinkish color tones. For a limestone, this is a very hard stone, where it has been used for essentially any application. Its main variations will depend on the color tone blend.

RECOMMENDED USE

The Lioz is one of the oldest limestones in Portugal, being found on numerous historic buildings throughout the country. It is today considered a prestigious limestone with very limited supply, but it has been used on diverse exterior applications such as cladding, masonry, landscaping, all sorts of stonework and much more. This is a combat limestone that ages extremely well.
